In the case of FTTH networking, PON technology has been unable to meet 100M broadband, 1G broadband, or even larger bandwidth.
However, the new 10G PON application scenarios are necessary: new Gigabit cells, LAN port speed increase, campus network, etc.
Therefore, your team must devise practical solutions to solve this problem and deal with new scene requirements.
Under normal circumstances (currently the mainstream support rate), the GPON network can provide the following Asynchronous transfer rate:
- 0.15552 Gbit/s up, 1.24416 Gbit/s down
- 0.62208 Gbit/s up, 1.24416 Gbit/s down
- 1.24416 Gbit/s upstream, 1.24416 Gbit/s downstream
- 0.15552 Gbit/s upstream, 2.48832 Gbit/s downstream
- 0.62208 Gbit/s up, 2.48832 Gbit/s down
- At 1.24416 Gbit/s, at 2.48832 Gbit/s (
- 2.48832 Gbit/s upstream, 2.48832 Gbit/s downstream
- The maximum logical distance supported is: 60km
- The maximum physical distance supported is: 20km
- The maximum distance difference supported is: 20km
- The splitting ratio is 1:64, which can be upgraded to1:128
The application scenarios of the equipment mainly have the following five types
- SFU (Single Household Unit) ONU
They are mainly used for single home users, only supporting broadband access terminal functions, with 1 or 4 Ethernet interfaces, providing Ethernet/IP services, supporting VoIP services (built-in IAD) or CATV services, mainly used in FTTH occasions ( Can be used in conjunction with the home gateway to provide more substantial business capabilities).
- HGU (Home Gateway Unit) ONU
Mainly used for single home users, with home gateway function, equivalent to a home gateway with EPON/GPON uplink interface, with 4 Ethernet interfaces, 1 WLAN interface, and at least 1 USB interface, providing Ethernet/IP services, Can support VoIP business (built-in IAD) or CATV business, support TR-069 remote management. Mainly used on FTTH occasions.
- MDU (Multi-Dwelling Unit) ONU
Mainly used for multiple residential users, with broadband access terminal function, with at least eight user-side interfaces (including Ethernet interface, ADSL2+ interface, or VDSL2 interface), provide Ethernet/IP services, and support VoIP services (built-in IAD) Or CATV business, mainly used in FTTB/FTTC/FTTCab occasions.
- SBU (Single Merchant Unit) ONU
Mainly used for individual enterprise users and a single office in the enterprise, supports broadband access terminal function, has Ethernet interface and E1 interface, provides Ethernet/IP service and TDM service, and optionally help VoIP service. Mainly used on FTTO occasions.
