Technical requirements for all-optical network cabling system and Cat6 network

System Overview 

Fiber to the home 

A.commercial part: stores use at least 2-core single-mode optical fiber to the home, the secondary wiring inside the home is laid by the user.

B. office part: the office is at least 4-core single-mode fiber to the home, the secondary wiring by the user to lay their own. Meet the principle of not less than 1 core per 40 square meters in the home.

C. Apartment: 2-core single-mode optical fiber is used in the apartment, and the second wiring is laid to the end socket.

System Overview 2

All-optical network

A. The OLT in the network room is transmitted to the ODN (splitter) through single-mode optical fiber, and the ODN is transmitted to the floor ONU through single-mode optical fiber after splitting, and the ONU is wired to the work area through category 6 unshielded twisted pair cable.

B. The cabling system consists of a fiber optic distribution frame, single-mode fiber, category 6 unshielded twisted pair, copper distribution frame, combined plug and socket, patch cord, and other accessories.

C. 4 to 6 information points are reserved for the service main desk in the public area; one language point and data point are reserved for the substation, living, fire pump room, and other important stations, and 10% are reserved for the commercial management room according to the demand of work stations; unplanned work stations are configured according to 1 voice point and 1 data point/5 square meters. The control room of the equipment room is configured according to 1 voice point and 1 data point/room.

System Functions 

Working area subsystem

The work area subsystem needs to meet the quantity and requirements of the tender drawings (or weak information socket point table), and needs to distinguish the voice points and data points with color and pattern according to the design of the tender drawings.

Wiring subsystem

The wiring subsystem is wired with Category 6 unshielded twisted-pair cable according to the requirements in the tender drawings. (Optical fiber can also be used according to specific requirements.)

In a horizontal wiring system using twisted pair, the wiring length does not exceed 90m.

Unshielded twisted pair sheath (UTP) should be color-coded to distinguish different user ends.

Wiring subsystem 1

Trunk subsystem

The trunk subsystem is transmitted from the OLT in the network room to the ODN (splitter) through single-mode optical fiber, which is transmitted to the floor ONU through single-mode optical fiber after splitting. it constitutes the backbone transmission medium between these locations and the related hardware connected to them.

The backbone system should include the vertical and/or horizontal distribution of fiber optic cables and/or cables within the wiring closet building. The backbone system consists primarily of large-pair cables and multicore fiber optic cables. Cabling should support sound, data, and video as well as the daily operation and maintenance of the building. Code requirements such as bend radius and tensile strength of all cables shall be adhered to during cabling.

The number of backbone cable cores (pairs) and roots for each floor line is specified on the tender drawings. Connections are made from the MDF using the star topology method.

Each fiber should be labeled by having a color code. Single-mode cable lengths shall not exceed the equipment manufacturer’s recommended values or length requirements to meet the specified performance levels.

Equipment room subsystem

The equipment room subsystem includes a program-controlled switch room, network switch room, weak power shaft on each floor, etc. The equipment room subsystem needs to meet the functional requirements for various weak power rooms.

According to the specification, an equipotential grounding system is provided and installed to connect the following equipment:

Communication cabinets, equipment racks, and wiring racks

Communications trunking, ladder frames, and bridges

All exposed metal parts of telecommunication system equipment

Building group subsystem

The building group subsystem contains the cable and fiber optic cable connections between buildings. The main wiring frame into a single building can be set in the incoming wiring room, or in the equipment room, subject to the bidding drawings. The data trunk between building groups is connected by fiber optic cable, and the voice trunk is connected by cable.

Management sub-system

For the wiring equipment, cables, information sockets, and other facilities in the inlet room, equipment room, handover room, work area, etc., unified management is required, and its identification and record mode should at least meet the requirements of relevant norms/standards.

UTP management system

Copper connection components should be able to cross-connect or interconnect by using cross-connect (jumper) wires or insert (interconnected) wires.

A separate termination module should be used for sound and copper data transmission. The demarcation/separation between telephone channels, PABX voice, copper data, and fiber data shall be as specified on the drawings.

Allows wiring modules to be removed from the wiring (frame) without interfering with other communications services. Include multi-port modules with applied insulation press-through connection (IDC) termination.

Wiring racks leave at least 10% spare space and allow for equipment pallets.

Fiber optic cable management system

The fiber optic patch panel should be installed in a standard 19-inch cabinet, including ST/SC/LC connectors, including fixed in the cabinet with drawer rails fiber management pedestal, and includes jumper ring between each multi-port panel.

Allows wiring modules to be removed from the patch panel without interfering with other communications services, and has associated modules for winding and securing cables.

Labeling

Label in alphanumeric order so that each part of the integrated cabling system has a unique identification. Existing building or customer labeling standards can be considered if necessary. The labeling system should be submitted for approval before installation can begin.

The following general labeling requirements should be met:

Labels at each end of the cable shall have a unique identifier and indicate their location from the main cable route.

Clear label holders shall be provided for each jack of the patch panel in accordance with the manufacturer’s standards.

The jack plate should be labeled to match the wiring label.

The naming is based on the principle of easy identification of the cable type.

2. Fiber optic splitter box

Category 6A unshielded patch cords

10) Data Cabinet

For wiring cabinets, in addition to meeting various requirements of equipment cabinets, they also need to meet the special needs of the integrated cabling system with hundreds of twisted pairs, large log cables and fiber optic cables, and patch cords installed.

A. Cabinet size: 450×600mm (width×depth) for wall-mounted cabinets in weak wells, 600×600mm (width×depth) for floor-mounted cabinets in weak wells, and 800×1000mm (width×depth) for cabinets in fire control rooms/network rooms.

B. Effective internal height: 15U/27U/42U (see design drawings for details)

C. The installation frame is required to meet the industrial standard 19-inch structure, and the magic hole is opened at 25mm spacing on the surface of the frame profile.
